Always on His mind...always on my mind

Greetings two weeks after my last post!  February 17 was election day here.  Rafael Carrera was voted in for another 4 year term by an overwhelming majority.  In two weeks we have been seeing some major changes occurring regarding rules and regulations within Ecuador.  It sent us to the high places to pray over Quito--for justice.  God, take what's wrong and make it right, break the chains and set Your people free!  We ask for mercy and grace.  Turn the sons of the fathers to the sons, and the sons to the fathers; We lift our faces to you for who You are, not for what You give us.  Awaken sleepers!  Rise and shine for your light has come!

All heaven declares His glory
Discouragement did visit me for a few days--relationship misunderstandings, doing less tha proficient in Spanish classes, a visit from loneliness, digestion problems.  Children of the King do have emotions, but children of the King also have authority and power, and I am so thankful for tools I have to fight and tools to strengthen myself in Him.   Great is His faithfulness to me.
We don't reduce to what we are;
He raises us to what He is

WOW (Women of Wonder) began this week.  We're meeting for 6 weeks going after unbelief, fear, intimidation and low self esteem, uncovering the treasures inside that were put there by our Creator, trading lies for truth and rising up to be warriors who have their eyes fixed on Jesus!  Woohoo!

Art Therapy with 30 incarcerated girls 12-20 years of age has been an amazing experience.  Each week is focused on a different season in their life: birth, ages 0-5, 5-10, and 10-15 so far. Their  lives are journeys full of good and bad, highs and lows, and nothing is wasted.  God is always with them, loving them, believing in them.  They've worked with finger and acrylic paints, clay and simple drawings depicting memories of relationships, places and experiences in their lives.  This last week they chose 4 different emotions and a memory that went with each one.  Floodgates opened and the room was filled with worship, prayer, sobbing, hugs and connection.  Healing can be painful.  Once again Ellie paints the most beautiful picture of this with her eloquent words  laiddownloverofjesus.blogspot.com  Check it out!

Don't just talk about the message--
be in on it  1 Cor 9:22-23
Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life.
Psalm 23:6
We gave a little girl on the streets cookies, words of love and affirmation and this art card.  We encouraged her to share her cookies with her friend, but all she wanted was more cookies.  The kindness and love were ignored, and she finally crumpled the card and threw it back at us.  Suddenly I sensed how Jesus must feel when He lavishes His love on us.  We turn our backs on Him, wanting our wants and needs met immediately, and we ignore what He knows will benefit us the most--His love, affection and presence.  Take us higher, Lord, to see things the way You see them.
In this life we cannot do great things.
We can only do small things with great love.
